Where Slurp saves files and local data

Default download folder

Slurp uses your macOS Downloads folder by default for downloaded media and recordings.

Change where files are saved

Open Slurp → Settings → Downloads. Under Destination, use Save downloads to → Choose… to select another folder.

Separate audio destination

In the same Downloads settings, you can enable a separate audio destination. If it is off, audio uses the main download folder.

What stays local

Downloaded media goes from the source to your Mac rather than through a Slurp media cloud. Queue state, history, preferences, and other working application data are stored locally on the Mac. Slurp does not collect your download history or app-usage analytics.

Pause or clear the queue

The Queue progress bar follows the measured download percentage. A moving light shows activity during preparation and finishing; a paused item keeps a still line. Finishing may continue after the file transfer is complete.

Pause Queue holds waiting work. Resume Queue resumes the items held by that control and leaves individually paused items paused. The control is disabled when the queue is empty.

Use the visible Clear Queue menu to choose Clear Completed or Clear Queue…. Clearing the queue asks for confirmation and protects active, paused, interrupted and unsaved work. It does not delete downloaded files or History entries.

Manage selected downloads

Click an item in Queue or History to select it. Use Command-click to toggle individual items, Shift-click for a range, or Select All for the visible results. Command-A selects all items when the list has focus; in the History search field, it selects the search text.

Queue offers Pause, Resume, Retry and Remove for selected items. Counts show which items each action affects. Resumed and retried items still wait if the whole queue is paused. Removal asks for confirmation and keeps downloaded and partial files; active downloads, unsaved recordings and items still being saved to History stay in Queue.

History offers selected Retry, Download Again and Remove. Removing several entries keeps the files and can be undone in one step while Slurp remains open.

When you have downloaded a link before

Slurp checks successful History entries with the same media and download choices. Choose Open File, Show in Finder or Download Again. If the old file is missing or its drive is disconnected, file actions are unavailable but you can download it again.

For a batch, new items enter Queue while you choose which earlier downloads to repeat. Different formats or other download choices are handled separately. Live recordings do not trigger this review.

Keep, clear or recover history

History keeps all entries by default. Choose Keep all history, Keep for one year or Keep for 90 days for retention. Clearing history asks for confirmation, and Undo can restore that change during the current app session. Clearing history or applying retention does not delete your downloaded files.

Slurp keeps a recoverable backup of history. If saving fails, the app shows the problem and offers Retry Saving.

Reconnect a moved or missing file

Slurp tracks saved files when macOS can follow them after a move. If a drive is disconnected, reconnect it. If a file is missing or its location is unknown, use Locate File in History and select the saved file to repair the link.

Support is separate

Nothing from your local download history is sent merely because you use Slurp. If you submit an in-app support report, the app shows the optional diagnostics you can review before sending. See Privacy for the exact support-data rules.
