The episode you chose

Browser companion downloads on Play episode pages now check the series, season and episode behind the stream. Promotional clips and player initialization files are excluded from episode downloads.

Audio for the full episode

When a DASH stream includes short bumper tracks, Slurp chooses a complete audio track for the episode. The reported episode was verified as a complete 1080p download with full stereo audio.

Keep episodes distinct

Browser downloads keep the episode name in the filename, queue and history. Different episodes no longer share the generic manifest filename.

Recover from missing browser cookies

If Chrome’s cookie database is missing, Slurp retries without that browser-cookie import so public videos can still be analyzed and downloaded.

Find nested live streams

Live-stream discovery checks nested players and preserves the referring page needed to access the stream.

Useful support reports

Reports for failed link analysis now include the log entries for that operation, with the existing privacy filtering.

Code review before signing

Every generated extractor component now requires developer approval. The review shows the proposed method, exact compiled code, site scope and verification record. Site-rule fixes retain their existing risk checks.

The same proposal, tested again

Approval continues the LangGraph investigation under a fresh lease. The worker rebuilds and retests the exact approved proposal. Changed source, code or runtime pins, expired approval and failed checks stop delivery. An uncertain publication cannot reuse the approval.

Clearer sharing and security information

The website now explains that shared public links may be opened and temporarily downloaded on a Slurp-operated computer for investigation. Details for nerds describes the runtime restrictions and the limits of signing-key recovery.

Release information stays together

The current app version, build, download filename and checksum come from one release record. The support and installation pages now agree with Slurp 1.0.17 (build 279). This service and website update does not change the Mac app download.

A clearer path from report to fix

LangGraph now coordinates Slurp’s AI-assisted site investigations. Reported problems follow an explicit path through reproduction, analysis, repair selection, testing and delivery. Site-rule updates and supported extractor repairs share one coordinator while keeping their own checks and release requirements.

Evidence before delivery

Checks stay tied to the originally reported source. Proposed fixes must pass download, playback and regression checks before publication. Riskier rule changes require developer approval, followed by fresh checks before release. Failed checks and uncertain release outcomes stop for further investigation.

Saved decisions, private details

The workflow records decisions and outcomes so investigations are easier to follow across attempts. Saved workflow state excludes raw media links, report text, tokens and signing keys. Your report-sharing and notification choices remain in control.

Save finished videos as videos

Slurp checks the media behind a direct streaming link before choosing a download or a live recording. Finished HLS and DASH sources can use the normal download workflow, with the available quality choices. This corrects the reported Reuters video being presented as live.

Follow the media, not its file extension

A streaming format can carry either a finished video or a live broadcast. Slurp reads the source metadata before deciding, and honors site rules that identify a source as a finished video. Confirmed live sources and existing recording jobs keep their recording workflow.

Keep your choices

This correction arrives through the Slurp app update. Your report-sharing, notification and automatic retry choices are preserved.

Repair how a site reveals its video

Slurp can now install verified, signed extraction repairs as site updates. These repairs can address how a website exposes its public media, without waiting for another full app release. Each proposed repair is tested against the reported video and other downloads before publication.

Keep temporary links fresh

Repaired downloads return to the original page when they start or resume, so temporary media addresses stay current. Queue pause, cancellation, resume and History remain part of the same Slurp workflow.

Know when a fix is ready

Reported Issues distinguishes an available site fix from a required app update. Slurp checks repair signatures, site scope and runtime requirements before installation, and stops offering withdrawn repairs.

Your report, affected link, notification and automatic retry choices stay in your control.

Find the main public player

Slurp checks the rendered player more carefully on pages with embedded video, multiple quality options or smaller previews. It keeps the original page as the download source and resolves fresh media addresses when the download starts.

Keep video and audio together

The public-player route supports MP4, M4V, MOV, WebM and HLS streams, with explicit quality selection and matching audio.

Give reports more useful evidence

Compatibility investigations can consult relevant, pinned source references and produce a clearer account of what was tried, what was observed and what still needs investigation.

Your report and notification sharing choices remain in control. Site-specific fixes are offered separately after verification.

Find the public player

Verified site updates can now tell Slurp to inspect a page’s visible public video player when its usual download engine cannot resolve it. Slurp checks the available qualities and their media details before offering a download. This reusable capability makes more site fixes possible through small compatibility updates.

Fresh links when you need them

For sites using the new player rule, Slurp resolves the original page again when a download starts or resumes. Queue and History keep the page link, so temporary media addresses do not become stale entries. Pausing or cancelling while a page is being resolved releases the queue slot immediately.

Browser companions, ready to use

Browser integrations no longer carry a Beta label in Settings or setup. They remain optional. Normal downloads and browser sessions stay on your Mac; a support investigation receives only the information you choose to share. New site rules are tested and delivered separately from this app update.

Tell us whether it worked

After a fix is available for your report, open Help → Reported Issues and choose “It works” or “Still fails”. Slurp saves your answer if you are offline. Clearer status messages explain whether a report is waiting, under investigation, being tested or needs more information.

Choose how to take part

When reporting an issue, you can separately choose to try early site fixes and share installation and retry results. Both choices start unchecked. In-app updates, email updates and one automatic retry remain separate choices. Result sharing sends only the report reference, fix version and outcome, without the media link, filename or logs.

Carefully staged site fixes

Slurp now supports offering verified site fixes to reporting users who opted in before wider release. Reported failures stop further expansion and alert the maintainer; a replacement site update can restore the previous rule. Reports also keep more precise details about the failed operation. Automatic investigations will become available when the repair worker is connected; this release does not claim to resolve every reported site issue.

Broader site coverage

Reported problems from any public site can now be considered for a site compatibility update. Proposed rules must pass independent reproduction, download, playback and regression checks before they can be published. This service update works with Slurp 1.0.12.

Further investigation when needed

If a rule cannot resolve the problem, verification fails, or there is not enough test evidence, the maintainer is alerted to investigate further. App, download engine and architectural changes remain outside automatic publication.

Report a problem in three steps

Start with the failed download, review its redacted diagnostics, then choose what to share and how to hear back. Sharing the affected link is a separate choice and helps us reproduce the problem. You can still contact support without diagnostics.

Choose how to hear about a fix

Choose an update in Slurp, an email, both or neither. For each report, you can also allow one automatic retry after a verified site fix has been installed. Slurp respects a paused queue and will not restart a download you have removed or cancelled.

Verified site fixes and BBC articles

Eligible site problems can be investigated with AI assistance. Proposed compatibility rules must pass independent download and playback checks before publication; the initial automatic scope is Dumpert. App changes and issues that need a login remain separate. BBC articles containing one resolved video can now be downloaded directly while collections keep their existing handling.

Keep the session that found the video

Fixes an issue where a Facebook video could be analyzed successfully but fail when the download started. Slurp now carries the temporary browser session through to the download, including sessions with no cookies.

Recover queued Facebook downloads

If Facebook cannot provide video information before downloading starts, Slurp tries a fresh public request before switching download engines. This also helps when retrying a queued item after restarting the app, without changing your browser settings.

Clearer guidance if a video still fails

Persistent Facebook parsing failures now show a compatibility message with guidance on updates. The report option stays available alongside the failed download so you can send the relevant details.

Use the available recovery options

When Facebook returns media information the download engine cannot read, Slurp now recognizes the failure and tries its recovery options. Browser Assistance follows your existing Ask, Always Allow or Never Allow preference.

Focus on actual video sources

Facebook background requests are no longer treated as possible videos, avoiding unsuccessful download attempts. The app also filters these requests when they come from an older browser companion.

Clearer guidance when a link still fails

If Facebook still cannot be read, Slurp shows a site compatibility error with an update action and retry option. A parsing failure alone no longer leads to an unexpected error or a claim that login is required.

Manage several items together

Select Queue or History items with Command-click, Shift-click or Select All. Pause, resume, retry or remove selected queue items, with counts showing how many items each action affects.

History lets you retry or download selected entries again. Removing several entries keeps your files and can be undone in one step.

Find what you already saved

When a successful earlier download matches the same media and download choices, Slurp offers Open File, Show in Finder or Download Again. Missing files can still be downloaded again.

For a batch, new items join Queue while you choose which earlier downloads to repeat. Different download choices and live recordings are handled separately.

See highlight brightness as you adjust it

The Highlights slider previews its brightness as you move it, with clear Subtle–Vivid labels. Vivid is the default when no preference has been saved; your existing setting is kept.

A lighter progress bar

Queue downloads now use a thinner track and a softly tapered glow, sharing the visual style of Paste and Analyze. A compact highlight follows the actual download percentage.

Consistent activity states

Preparation and finishing use a matching activity animation. Paused downloads keep a still progress line, while completed downloads settle into a clean full line.

Balanced in light and dark

Highlights are balanced for light and dark appearance. Reduce Motion uses a static indicator, and download percentages and status descriptions remain available to accessibility tools.

More control over your queue

Pause Queue holds waiting work and resumes the work you paused together. Individually paused items stay paused. Retry failed or cancelled downloads in the same row, clear completed items separately, or use Clear Queue with confirmation. Active, paused and recoverable work stays protected, and Resume Queue is disabled when the queue is empty.

History you can keep and recover

History no longer has a silent 500-entry limit. Keep all entries or choose a retention period, with confirmation and Undo for clearing. Downloaded files stay on your Mac. Recoverable backups and visible save errors help protect your records; Locate File reconnects a history entry when a file is missing.

Report the error while it is useful

Report this problem is available beside download, analysis and recording failures, including Compact Mode and failed History entries. Reports start with a readable description and can include redacted diagnostics captured when the failure happened. Diagnostics are off by default and must be reviewed before inclusion. Sharing the affected link remains a separate choice.

One place for updates

Open Settings → General → Updates. A single Keep Slurp up to date switch and Check for Updates button cover the app, download support, live recordings, and site fixes.

Live-stream fixes between app releases

Slurp can now receive verified Streamlink updates without waiting for a full app release. Each update is checked for authenticity and compatibility before use.

Recovery when you need it

Details & Recovery keeps component versions and rollback controls close at hand. Recordings continue with the engine they started with, and manual recovery pauses that component’s automatic updates until you turn them back on.

Compatibility-driven browser assistance

Signed site-compatibility rules can now request Slurp’s temporary Browser Assistance flow when a provider such as Douyin needs an active browser session before direct extraction can recover.

The requested video stays the target

For Douyin modal and listing links, Slurp can use the original page to establish a temporary session, but extraction retries stay bound to the canonical /video/<id> target. Media from unrelated cards on the listing page is not substituted.

Temporary session data

Browser Assistance remains provider-allowlisted and ephemeral. Temporary cookies and browser-session material are discarded after the recovery attempt.

Exact Douyin video targeting

Douyin modal URLs are normalized around the exact requested media identity, preventing unrelated page-global videos from being selected when a listing contains multiple playable items.

Douyin live recording

Douyin live-room links are normalized to the canonical live endpoint and handled by Slurp’s bundled live-stream pipeline.

Native HTTP-FLV previews

Supported HTTP-FLV live previews are remuxed locally to HLS for native AVPlayer playback, while preview startup remains separate from the recording path.

Cleaner live states

Live preview startup uses a consistent connecting state, and Queue rows keep live-state presentation aligned with the rest of Slurp.

No unnecessary Local Network access

Slurp’s embedded compatibility fallback is now isolated from private and local-network destinations. Public media pages should no longer cause macOS to ask for Local Network access during normal fallback use.

Private-network requests blocked

The temporary browser context blocks navigation and common web request paths to localhost, private IPv4 and IPv6 ranges, link-local, multicast and local or intranet-style destinations.

Safer media discovery

Private or local media candidates are rejected before probing, and public-to-private redirects are not accepted as downloadable media. These checks keep public compatibility work on public network destinations.

Fallback still works normally

The compatibility fallback remains available without granting Slurp Local Network permission. The new safeguards were regression-tested alongside the existing download, browser-assistance and update paths.

Verified Slurp user reviews

Eligible licensed users can use Help → Review Slurp… after normal product use. Purchased and complimentary licenses can qualify. Review eligibility is calculated locally and is not shown as a progress meter or Settings item.

Submitted reviews can appear on the public Verified Slurp user reviews page after moderation.

Verified licensing without exposing the license key

Slurp verifies an eligible active license with its existing signed entitlement. The review service does not receive the raw license key, media URLs, filenames, titles, browsing or download history, purchase email, or payment-provider identifiers.

One verified review per license

The review service prevents duplicate submissions from the same eligible license. Reviews remain pending until moderation is complete, and the public review flow is designed to treat genuine positive and negative feedback the same way.

Clearer review failures

Review-specific errors distinguish license requirements, unsupported app versions, connectivity problems, browser-opening failures and an already-submitted review.

Automatic app updates

Slurp now uses Sparkle for app updates. With Automatic updates enabled, Slurp can check for new releases and download verified updates in the background. You can still use Check Now whenever you want.

Signed update delivery

Update archives are signed specifically for Slurp and the app continues to use Apple Developer ID signing and notarization. Slurp verifies the update before installing it.

From 1.0.0 to 1.0.1

Slurp 1.0.1 is the first release with the new self-updater. After 1.0.1 is installed, future Slurp updates can be handled directly by the app instead of requiring a fresh DMG installation each time.

Signed site compatibility

Slurp can use signed compatibility packs for provider-specific fixes without turning those packs into plug-ins or executable code.

Every downloaded pack is checked with SHA-256 and an Ed25519 signature. Packs can only select capabilities already built into Slurp, and the app keeps previous and bundled rules available as fallbacks.

More reliable media selection

Pages that contain recommendation cards, preloaders or several media candidates now give stronger priority to media identified by the requested page itself.

This also fixes ordinary HLS videos such as Dumpert items being mistaken for live recordings, so they stay in the normal download flow and History.

Better live detection

YouTube watch links are no longer treated as live simply because Streamlink can open them. Slurp now uses explicit live-state evidence before switching to the recording interface.

That reduces cases where a normal video opens the live-stream controls after a transient analysis failure.

Support requests & diagnostics

Slurp now has a dedicated Contact Support flow and a contextual Report this problem action for failed jobs. Optional technical diagnostics are off by default and must be reviewed before they are included.

The affected media URL is a separate opt-in. Diagnostic filtering removes or replaces credentials, cookies, authorization values, licence keys, signed URLs, email addresses and local file paths. An export fallback remains available if direct submission is unavailable.

Public Snapchat videos

Added Slurp-owned compatibility for public Snapchat Spotlight, Highlight and share links, including short snapchat.com/t/… links and compact public creator permalinks.

Slurp can inspect the public page, resolve signed Snapchat media and save the default video as an MP4. Private Snaps, disappearing messages and authentication bypass are outside this support.

Live recording

Record supported live streams while they happen, with a playable preview, quality choice, pause, resume, reconnection handling and Stop & Save.

Slurp supports up to two concurrent live recordings in slots separate from ordinary downloads.

Browser integrations Beta

Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox integrations can send a page to Slurp and help on supported sources that need your authorized browser session.

Safari ships its Companion inside the notarized Slurp app. Edge and Firefox are now available from their official browser stores, while Chrome keeps its guided local setup. Browser integrations remain optional.

Pay once or subscribe yearly

Slurp now understands both permanent Slurp 1.x licenses and the Individual — Yearly plan. A yearly subscription includes updates and major upgrades while subscribed and works offline only through its signed paid-through date.

After renewal, Slurp checks the licensing service for the new paid period. Cancelling preserves access through the period already paid for.

Local-first privacy

Slurp does not collect download URLs, download history or app-usage analytics. Media travels from its source to the user’s Mac.

Licensing, payments, updates and integrations still use the network services described in the privacy policy.
