Verified Slurp user reviews

Eligible licensed users can use Help → Review Slurp… after normal product use. Purchased and complimentary licenses can qualify. Review eligibility is calculated locally and is not shown as a progress meter or Settings item.

Submitted reviews can appear on the public Verified Slurp user reviews page after moderation.

Verified licensing without exposing the license key

Slurp verifies an eligible active license with its existing signed entitlement. The review service does not receive the raw license key, media URLs, filenames, titles, browsing or download history, purchase email, or payment-provider identifiers.

One verified review per license

The review service prevents duplicate submissions from the same eligible license. Reviews remain pending until moderation is complete, and the public review flow is designed to treat genuine positive and negative feedback the same way.

Clearer review failures

Review-specific errors distinguish license requirements, unsupported app versions, connectivity problems, browser-opening failures and an already-submitted review.

Automatic app updates

Slurp now uses Sparkle for app updates. With Automatic updates enabled, Slurp can check for new releases and download verified updates in the background. You can still use Check Now whenever you want.

Signed update delivery

Update archives are signed specifically for Slurp and the app continues to use Apple Developer ID signing and notarization. Slurp verifies the update before installing it.

From 1.0.0 to 1.0.1

Slurp 1.0.1 is the first release with the new self-updater. After 1.0.1 is installed, future Slurp updates can be handled directly by the app instead of requiring a fresh DMG installation each time.

Signed site compatibility

Slurp can use signed compatibility packs for provider-specific fixes without turning those packs into plug-ins or executable code.

Every downloaded pack is checked with SHA-256 and an Ed25519 signature. Packs can only select capabilities already built into Slurp, and the app keeps previous and bundled rules available as fallbacks.

More reliable media selection

Pages that contain recommendation cards, preloaders or several media candidates now give stronger priority to media identified by the requested page itself.

This also fixes ordinary HLS videos such as Dumpert items being mistaken for live recordings, so they stay in the normal download flow and History.

Better live detection

YouTube watch links are no longer treated as live simply because Streamlink can open them. Slurp now uses explicit live-state evidence before switching to the recording interface.

That reduces cases where a normal video opens the live-stream controls after a transient analysis failure.

Support requests & diagnostics

Slurp now has a dedicated Contact Support flow and a contextual Report this problem action for failed jobs. Optional technical diagnostics are off by default and must be reviewed before they are included.

The affected media URL is a separate opt-in. Diagnostic filtering removes or replaces credentials, cookies, authorization values, licence keys, signed URLs, email addresses and local file paths. An export fallback remains available if direct submission is unavailable.

Public Snapchat videos

Added Slurp-owned compatibility for public Snapchat Spotlight, Highlight and share links, including short snapchat.com/t/… links and compact public creator permalinks.

Slurp can inspect the public page, resolve signed Snapchat media and save the default video as an MP4. Private Snaps, disappearing messages and authentication bypass are outside this support.

Live recording

Record supported live streams while they happen, with a playable preview, quality choice, pause, resume, reconnection handling and Stop & Save.

Slurp supports up to two concurrent live recordings in slots separate from ordinary downloads.

Browser integrations Beta

Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox integrations can send a page to Slurp and help on supported sources that need your authorized browser session.

Safari ships its Companion inside the notarized Slurp app. Edge and Firefox are now available from their official browser stores, while Chrome keeps its guided local setup. Browser integrations remain optional.

Pay once or subscribe yearly

Slurp now understands both permanent Slurp 1.x licenses and the Individual — Yearly plan. A yearly subscription includes updates and major upgrades while subscribed and works offline only through its signed paid-through date.

After renewal, Slurp checks the licensing service for the new paid period. Cancelling preserves access through the period already paid for.

Local-first privacy

Slurp does not collect download URLs, download history or app-usage analytics. Media travels from its source to the user’s Mac.

Licensing, payments, updates and integrations still use the network services described in the privacy policy.
