How to record a Twitch live stream on a Mac
Start while the stream is live and keep the part you want. Slurp records the accessible stream; it is not a recording of your whole desktop.
To record a supported Twitch live stream on your Mac, paste its live link into Slurp and analyze it. Check the live preview, choose a recording quality and select Start Recording. Use Stop & Save when you want to finish the recording.
Record in four steps.
Find the live stream
Open a currently live Twitch stream and copy its link. Paste it into New in Slurp and press Return, or use the Analyze arrow.
Preview and choose quality
Check the live preview to confirm the stream. Choose from the available live recording qualities before you start.
Start recording
Select Start Recording. Follow the elapsed recording time in Queue. Keep Slurp running, your Mac awake and the network connection available.
Pause, resume, then save
Use Pause and Resume if you want to leave out a section. Content broadcast while recording is paused is not captured. Choose Stop & Save to finish and save the recording.
Live recording starts now
A live recording captures the part of the stream available from the time recording begins. It does not retrieve the whole broadcast from before you pressed Start Recording. Saving an available replay is a separate download task.
What happens if the connection drops?
Slurp includes reconnection handling, but a network interruption or a source change can still leave a gap or stop a recording. Check the recording status after an interruption and play the saved file to verify the result.
Pause does not save the missing part for later
When you pause, the broadcast continues without being captured. Resume starts capturing again from the live stream. Use Stop & Save when you are finished so Slurp can complete the file.
Common questions
Can Slurp record a Twitch stream while I download a video?
Live recordings use separate recording slots from ordinary downloads. The app supports up to two concurrent live recordings; available network and system resources can still affect performance.
Does Slurp record my screen or microphone?
The Twitch workflow records accessible media from the supported live stream. It does not capture your whole desktop or add microphone audio.
Can I record the beginning of a stream after it has already happened?
Starting a live recording does not retrieve the earlier broadcast. If a replay is later available as a supported downloadable video, analyze that replay separately.
