How to download Instagram videos on a Mac
A Reel you want to refer back to deserves its own file. Use the link to that specific Reel or video post, so Slurp can look for its media.
To save a supported Instagram Reel or video post to your Mac, open the individual item in your browser and copy its link. Paste the link into Slurp, press Return to analyze it, choose the available video or audio option and click Download.

Open the individual Reel or video post
In your browser, open the Reel or video post you want to keep and copy its address. Use a link to the item itself, rather than an Instagram profile or the feed.
Let Slurp find the media
Open New, paste the link and press Return, or click the Analyze arrow. Slurp checks which media it can access for that item.
Check the output options
Choose Video, or Audio if that is the copy you need. Select an available format and quality, and check the destination folder. The choices can differ between posts.
Save the file locally
Click Download and follow the item in Queue. When it completes, find it in History or open the file from your selected folder.
Use a post link, not a profile link
A profile or feed can contain many items. Opening the particular Reel or video post gives Slurp a more specific starting point and makes it easier to check that the result is the video you intended to save.
This guide covers supported Reels and video posts. It does not promise access to Stories, disappearing messages or every item in a profile.
When Instagram asks you to sign in
Being able to watch a post in your browser does not always mean Slurp can access it from the link alone. If Slurp asks for browser assistance, use its supported browser companion and session options.
Only use your own authorized session. Private or restricted posts may still be unavailable; Slurp does not bypass account permissions or access controls.
If sound or quality differs
The formats Slurp can access can differ from the options you see in Instagram. Choose from the results shown after analysis. If the media is unavailable or audio is missing, report the error and the type of post to support.

Can Slurp save Instagram Reels to my Mac?
Yes, for supported Reel links. Open the individual Reel, copy its link, then paste and analyze it in Slurp. Choose an available output and download it to your Mac.
Do I need an Instagram login?
Some links may need your signed-in browser session. Slurp’s browser assistance can help on supported pages, but a login does not guarantee that a post is downloadable.
Can Slurp download private Instagram videos?
This guide does not promise private-post support. A browser session can help with some supported pages you are authorized to view, but private and restricted content may remain unavailable. Slurp does not bypass access controls.
