How to download Snapchat videos on a Mac
Keep a public Spotlight post or shared video on your Mac. Start with the post’s public share link and give Slurp time to resolve it.
To download a supported public Snapchat video on your Mac, copy the individual Spotlight or public share link, paste it into Slurp and press Return. Wait while Slurp resolves the public page, then choose Video and click Download. The default video result is saved as an ordinary MP4 file.
Download in four steps.
Copy the public post link
Open the public Spotlight or shared Snapchat video and copy its link. Slurp recognizes public short links, Spotlight and Highlight links, and compact public creator permalinks.
Paste and analyze
Open New in Slurp, paste the link and press Return. A short
snapchat.com/t/…address may first resolve to the post’s public permalink.Wait for the video result
Snapchat can take longer than some sources because Slurp may inspect the public page to locate its media. Keep the app open until the video options appear.
Choose your output and download
Choose Video and an available quality or format, then click Download. Slurp saves the default video as an MP4 in the folder shown above the Download button.
Public links Slurp understands
Slurp 1.0.2 recognizes public snapchat.com/t/… share links, Spotlight and Highlight URLs, and compact public permalinks in the form snapchat.com/@creator/…. Use the individual item link instead of a creator profile.
A short share link can redirect to a longer public permalink. That is expected; Slurp retains the original page as the source while it resolves the video.
Why analysis can take longer
Snapchat does not always expose its public media in the same way as other sites. Slurp first checks the link normally, then can use its own private browser resolver to inspect the public page. If it finds a signed Snapchat media address, Slurp handles that media directly.
These extra steps happen inside Slurp. They do not grant access to anything that is not already public, and a source-side change can still prevent a post from resolving.
Public means public
This workflow covers public web content. Slurp does not access private Snaps, disappearing messages, private accounts or authenticated content that you are not authorized to view. It does not bypass Snapchat permissions or DRM.
Only save and use media when you have permission. A successful download does not grant permission to repost someone else’s work.
Common questions
Can Slurp download Snapchat Spotlight videos?
Yes, when the Spotlight post is available through a supported public share link. Paste the individual link into Slurp, wait for analysis and choose Download when video options appear.
Can Slurp download private Snaps or disappearing messages?
No. Slurp’s Snapchat support is for public web content. It does not access private Snaps, disappearing messages or content your account is not allowed to view.
Why can Snapchat analysis take longer?
Some public Snapchat links first redirect to a public permalink, and Slurp may need to inspect the page for its media. Keep the app open while it checks the link. Source changes can still make a post unavailable.
Use Slurp only for media you are authorized to save or record. Source availability can change; try the links you need during the free trial. Slurp does not bypass DRM. Usage & trademark notice.
